Privacy policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

IronSpotter is private by default. It has no account, no advertising, and no cloud photo library. Your collection and acquisition records stay on your device unless your operating system includes eligible app data in a device backup.

Who is responsible

IronSpotter is developed and operated by Rubén González. For privacy questions or requests, emailme@rubenglez.dev.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the information needed to maintain your private collection:

This information remains in IronSpotter's local app storage. You can remove an individual find from its machine card. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes local data from the device, subject to any device backup retained by Apple or Google.

Device backup

Your operating system may include eligible IronSpotter data in iCloud Backup or Android backup, depending on your device and account settings. IronSpotter does not operate that backup service or receive its contents. Manage or delete backups from your Apple or Google account settings.

Permissions

The app does not request background location or microphone access.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and managed throughRevenueCat. These services process transaction and entitlement information needed to complete or restore the lifetime unlock. IronSpotter does not receive your full payment-card details or store credentials.

Optional analytics and crash reporting

IronSpotter asks for explicit permission before optional product analytics or crash diagnostics leave the device. The setting can be changed at any time in the app. Declining does not reduce features, the free allowance or paid access.

Photos, filenames, coordinates, addresses, free-form search text, contact details, advertising identifiers, receipts and payment details are prohibited from telemetry. PostHog's location enrichment is disabled and client IP data is discarded after network processing.

Support

When you contact support, the app may prepare an email containing only the app version, catalog version and a broad issue category. You decide whether to send it and whether to add text or attachments. Support messages are used only to answer your request and are retained for no longer than 24 months.

Retention

Service providers and international transfers

Depending on your choices and platform, IronSpotter uses Apple, Google Play, RevenueCat, PostHog US Cloud and Google Firebase. Those providers may process data outside your country under their own privacy terms and applicable transfer safeguards. IronSpotter does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Your choices and rights

You can decline or disable analytics and crash reporting, decline location, delete individual finds, clear local app data and uninstall the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent. Contactme@rubenglez.dev to make a request. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

IronSpotter is designed for adult heavy-equipment enthusiasts, operators, tradespeople and collectors. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

Material changes will be published on this page with a new effective date. If a change requires new consent, the app will ask before enabling that processing.
